Why am I creating this project?
This documentary is for my final university major multimedia project. The documentary is 7 minutes long and will be up on Youtube by December 14th.
Why did I choose to tell this story?
I am passionate about music, especially within the alternative music scene and wanted to work on a project based around something I love.
I have seen so much on social media recently about musicians within the scene having committed suicide that I decided to investigate a little further to see what’s going on. Is music helping or making things worst? Is there help out there for musicians? How do they cope with touring and the pressure from working in the industry? Is there a rise in musicians reaching out for help?
How long will the project take to create?
October – Searching for the right interviewees and arranging dates and places to film the different components of the documentary. As well as research on the topic. Setting out a plan for the final piece and how I am going to tell the story.
November – Getting the majority of the filming done, a bit of that may run over into the first week of December. Writing up the script and starting to put things together.
December – Putting the whole project together, editing, adding my voice overs. Finalising the project for December 14th.
