Editing process

I finally have all of the content I need to put my documentary together.

Looking back to my pitch and storyboard things have changed a lot but that’s what journalism is all about, sometimes you have to adapt to the situation and expect the story to change and possibly take a new direction.

I have a lot of different clips and audio that I have been sorting through over the past few days but I am finally getting somewhere.

I had written up my voiceovers about a week ago but didn’t record them until today because I wasn’t sure about placement and if I would need to change them.

As Everything Unfolds gave me authorisation to use one of their songs in the background of my video which made things a lot easier for me and I chose my favourite song which was nice to have in my project.

Editing is a very long process and I had to do things I hadn’t done before like trying to cut out a swear word whilst someone else started speaking almost at the same time. But with some patience and precision I managed to work it out.

The documentary didn’t take the direction I said it would when I started out with this project but I am very pleased with the end result and cannot wait to share it with you all very soon!
